Nikolai - As much as I love the 14" ACF from Meade, I use my binoculars on a much more regular basis.

Have you used binoculars for much observing? The other night I was using 2x54 binoculars. They are wonderful for seeing all the constellations in a light polluted sky. The 2 power and large 54mm lenses bring out the stars that are invisible otherwise from the city/suburbs.
Larger binoculars like 10x50 and 20x80 are great for Variable Star observations as well as star clusters and being able to see the different colors of stars.

Hi Andrew!

No, I haven’t used binoculars a lot. I had one before, and it broke. I think I should get one! Portability is the best thing about binoculars.

Thanks :+1:
Have a great day!

I wish. It’s 10” f/5. That was the largest I could load into my car.

Unfortunately the company that made it went out of business in 2012. That’s too bad because I wanted to buy some spare parts.

What company was that ?

Parks. They, in turn, had replaced Cave. I have a scope from each of them.

Yeah my stuff from Meade is obsolete also . ‘Bout the only thing you can do is find used for parts .

Yeah, I’m always on the lookout for things like that.

Last week, just managed a few minutes to have some observations, but saw nothing. Anyhow, I’m trying to get something using the GoPro.

Hello! I believe there are very experienced people here. I am new to astronomy because I am only 15 years old. I am good at mathematics and physics. When I was 10, I developed an interest in astronomy, and now I want to continue pursuing it. I would be very grateful for any advice and guidance for my future from such intellectual individuals.

I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself an “ intellectual” just somebody that likes the hobby of visual astronomy through the eyepiece . It’s a relaxing and fascinating endeavor . .

I can relate—it’s all about observing. But I think you are more experienced than me, and you can guide me
