I’ve been an Amateur Astronomer for over 45 years. I have a SkyShed POD observatory that I’ve christened “Riverstar Observatory” and do mostly visual observing. I’m a Master Binocular Observer through the Astronomical League and use various binoculars from 7x50, 10x50, 20x80 to 25x100’s and Explore Scientific 120mm Binoculars. I’m a member of AAVSO and an avid Visual Variable Star Observer.

My observatory houses either an Explore Scientific ED152 (6") APO Refractor or a Meade 14" ACF f/10 on an Explore Scientific Losmandy G-11 with PMC-Eight Drive System. Depending on types of observations I’m involved with I’ll swap out the OTA’s. I’ve been primarily focused on other Astronomical League Visual Observing Programs the past few years. I play around with iPhone Astrophotography as well as DSLR video and photography, and eventually I’ll try CMOS (VBRI) photometry and then spectroscopy.

I’m currently having a great time with AAVSOnet and using VPhot to submit my photometry to AAVSO. T CrB is the #1 focus for the past couple years, and until it goes nova.

I currently work as a Marketing Executive for Targus, and in the early 2000’s, I was the Product Manager for the ETX Line of Telescopes at Meade Instruments. So I’ve spent time playing around with a lot of different equipment and ways to be connected with Astronomy.
