I am looking at an 11” Celestron with a computerized mount. I want to be able to display the imagery captured by the scope onto an HD PC monitor. I want to be able to point/ reposition the scope from the PC/ monitor location. Where may I find help putting this together?
You are looking at some EAA stuff there. You can download Stellarium or Sky Safari and control the scope using either of those programs. Some people use web cams to view on the screen
How I do mine is to use Tight Vnc to couple my mount computer to my inside computer, via Wi-Fi.
I’m using NINA as my controlling program, and Stellarium as my Planetarium program.
All of my basic programs (or Apps if you prefer) are on my laptop I primarily use at my equipment outside. It Wi Fi’s great to my router which feeds to my main computer in my man cave indoors.
NINA was a bit daunting for me. But it turned out my equipment was also a bit too archaic for what I was trying to do. As I improved it, things got better. By using the recommended equipment in NINA’s drop-down menus things got better and better.
Also, Cuiv, The Lazy Geek tutorials helped me master NINA.
I find YouTube videos work great for learning this stuff because I can stop, backup, and apply settings and points reviled in the videos.
I’m at the point to where I connect my mount laptop and power up out back, then I can completely run everything from inside my home. (Helps to make my wife feel less like a “Golf Widow”, LOL!
Finer details: I use, and have always used, a powered USB hub at my telescope, and a single USB Data down feed to my laptop. With a single power source up to power everything at my mount (Including the mount). (Ie: Mount, USB Hub, Cameras, Focuser, Rotator.)
So two cables to/from my mount, to my laptop and power supply.
13 years ago I was dreaming of fully remote operation. Today I have that and can get things started on a target then go to bed and wake to a fully collected nights files to stack and process.
My dream AP rig. (Also note I use and link Free software. I do subscribe to some things like SharpCap Pro for polar alignment, but that is optional extras)
