Well the big winter storm ended up giving us about 10 inches of snow. Too add insult to injury right behind it came the polar temps. We have been running 10 to 15 degrees below normal for a while now. This morning before I left for work it was -8f. Fortunately there was no wind to speak of. Tomorrow morning the forecast projects temps to hit a low of -17f. That is going to suck. Fortunately i wont need to go out in it.
Keep your snow paks handy.
I lived and worked in Wyoming for 7 years.
I do NOT miss their 9 months of winter!
This time of the year it’s normally sub-zero for weeks at a time.
I am watching the weather. We get back to normal temps next week. 20 will feel pretty good
Not to rub salt into a wound, but my wife sez we are supposed to get up to 80°F today…
I had to put away my long johns, only got less than 2 weeks use out of them this year. They just got too hot to wear.
But I do have my lined Carhartt’s and lined Bean Boots held in reserve…
I will be in my carhartts for a day or two yet. But when its 20…time for a t shirt lol
That darned global warming
-18 this morning…ugh that is seriously cold. I do admit it is kinda nice to have a real winter for a change.
Kinda hot, doncha think?
It makes this mornings 7 degrees feel almost balmy
LOL!
I remember when we got back up to 0° in Wildoming we’d be in Tee Shirts.
One time I cut myself with my electrician’s knife and it didn’t even bleed. It oozed. ![]()
Yep, you get thick blood in the cold weather.
Does your equipment work OK in such cold?
I have no idea…i dont work well in it, so i dont ask my equipment to. It just sits out in the scope shed waiting for warmer weather. I could take my manual 10 inch dob out but i really dont feel like going out in 10 inches of snow and temps that are in the low to mid teens as a high.
