We needs some moderators here to approve the first post. In the last two daysi have seen a couple of ads that have nothing to do with astronomy
I agree. Those non-related topics are a problem.
I won’t be around long if it continues
Report them if you see them .
Let me rephrase that . At the bottom of the post , there’s 3 dots . Tap and a flag pops up with some other choices . Tap the flags and there’s more choices . I always flag these as spam . They get taken down and I haven’t seen any for a few weeks until today .
@Starrancher just did 5 more.
Yeah there are a lot of unnecessary ones
I think most of the registered members on this forum are such ones.
Looks like they are coming in waves . I flagged three or four yesterday .
I am not long for this site if it persists
Well , I thought I’d try to give the new forum a helping hand to get it going again . It was the best Astronomy forum on the web before it got discontinued around 2010 . It no doubt takes some time to get a new one off the ground . But it certainly isn’t looking that great . I wonder if a lot of the old timers that were on back then have dropped out of the hobby or just moved on to greener pastures . I’d have thought that there would be more content from veterans of amateur astronomy that once graced the pages by now ….
I suspect a lot of members moved over to Cloudy Nights. I’ve been there for a few years but decided to give this site a try since I’m already a subscriber anyway. The potential is here but it needs abut more policing. As word gets around they will come.
I am on CN, but it is just a war zone. Especially if you have a different opinion. I am glad i stumbled onto TSS
Well hopefully it gets going and becomes what it once was in its former glory . It was pretty disappointing when the OG was shut down .
