Special theory of relativity

Hello fellow readers,
We all know how important special theory of relativity is in cosmology application, let’s take a small overview for those who might have forgotten about it .
Special theory of relativity came to light when ether drift failed, which connected to belief that there is no such thing as absolute frame of reference which indicates to famous cosmology principle ‘we don’t hold any special place in universe’ . As , in spaceship with all windows closed we won’t be able to tell if we are stationary or moving but upon looking outside we might say we are in motion wrt fixed stars but not whether we are in motion or stars.
○ Einstein decided not to change the original classical theories but circulated around negative results of ether-drift experiment and his own reasoning. He was fully convinced that there was no such thing as absolute frame of reference, he examined the physical consequences of absence of such a frame of reference and breaking away from traditional concepts of space and time. Hence, introducing special theory of relativity in 1905. Following up, releasing much complex and difficult theory named as general theory of relativity.
○ Special theory of relativity has mainly 2 basic postulates:
1. The laws of physics all take same identical form for all frames of reference in uniform relative motion i.e, for interial frames of reference.
This indicates direct consequences of absence of an absolute or fixed frame of reference.
2. The velocity of light in free space is same relative to any interial frame of reference i.e, invariant to transformation from one inertial frame of reference to another thus has same value for observers irrespective of their state of motion.
Thank youu,
See you all next week or very soon.
