Which Orion are you referring too? The defunct one that was in the US or the Orion in the UK which is a different company?
The UK based on not the USA one that is no more
I have read a few reviews of their scopes and optically they seem to be pretty good. I guess they are considered to be a step up from the mass market scopes
Hello George,
The Orion Optics 12", 14", and 16" Newtonian reflectors are capable of producing impressive planetary images when paired with good seeing conditions, accurate collimation, and a suitable planetary camera. While image quality can vary depending on the optical configuration and imaging setup, many astrophotographers have successfully captured detailed views of Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars using large-aperture Orion Optics reflectors.
You may also find it helpful to share details about your specific telescope model and imaging equipment, as other users can provide more relevant examples and recommendations based on similar setups.
Best of luck with your planetary imaging projects!
