DarkSky International opposes Reflect Orbital’s proposed orbital illumination system

do you guys remember the dark sky week of 2025? Dark sky is a non profitable organisation working to save the night sky…
so it seems there is a proposed technology that is supposed to be able to reflect sunlight to specific part of the earth where there is night, on demand. and DarkSky is raising a campaign against this and trying to oppose granting of permission. it is possible for anyone to add their name to the campaign as like a sign… so i signed up and im sharing the link here. do try to support guys

Humans are the most destructive thing on the Earth. What greater good comes from lighting up the Earth with space mirrors?
That is a light pollution you can’t shut off.
Such poppycock!

Sounds completely disruptive to natural orders of nocturnal denizens.
Not to mention what it could do to human rest and recuperation cycles.

Dark sky week 2026 is here!

In case anyone was wondering, no I’m not actively part of Darksky in anyway😅 just signed up to their email list so whenever I come across something I just share it in case anyone is interested
