Best Telescope for Deep Sky Objects & Planet Observation Expert Advice

I’ve been looking into buying a telescope recently because I want to spend more time exploring the night sky and learning about astronomy. After reading reviews from astronomy websites, tech publications, and user discussions, I’ve narrowed my search down to these two popular options:

Now I’m struggling to decide which one would be the better choice for my needs. I’m mainly interested in viewing the Moon, planets, star clusters, nebulae, and other deep-sky objects. I’d like something that offers excellent image quality, is reasonably easy to use, and will continue to be useful as I gain more experience.

For those who have used either of these telescopes, which would you recommend.
Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First, welcome to this forum.

I’ve got Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope and a refractor telescope.

For planets and Moon (and double stars), the best telescopes are refractors for its high quality but for deep-sky objects (galaxies, nebualae,..) a newtonian (reflector) telescope, to watch faint and wide objects.

Anyway, you can use any previous telescope for planets and deep-sky objects, taking into account the limits of both telescopes.

As Celestron StarSense is a newtonian (reflector) telescope, it’ll be necessary to check the collimation (alignment of the 2 mirrors), from time to time. If the collimation fails, the images will blurred.

Respect to Telescope for Adults High Powered, the quality of images will depend on objective lens. Seeing its cost, these lens will show chromatic aberration (blue and red colors around an object) that it may be annoying.

In addition to this, the eyepieces play an important role in the final image. A bad eyepiece ruins the image altough your telescope is the best one. However, a good eyepiece may improve (or, at least, reduce defects) a bad telescope. The eyepieces of these telescopes aren’t good.

First thing you need to do is find an astronomy club and join it. Spend time playing with other peoples scopes. This will show you the scope you really want. I would not recommend either of those scopes. Definitely do not buy a scope from Amazon, you have no support when you have questions or issues with the product.
