Since many of you are imagers – or interested in becoming imagers – I am pleased to announce our exciting new astrophotography contest, now accepting submissions through midnight EDT on June 22.
There are several categories, including “Newcomer” and “Processing,” the latter of which doesn’t require you to take any images of your own at all! Simply download the free dataset, offered by category sponsor Telescope Live, and work your magic as you see fit.
You may submit up to 5 total entries across all the categories. Winners and shortlisted images will be published in the December 2026 issue of Astronomy, plus we’ve got some sweet prizes available!
