Off the top of my head
scientists found a galaxy that seems to be completely void of dark matter?
Don’t know if it’s true
It just came up on youtube :woman_shrugging:t2:
Anyone else heard about this?

Like I said, I hadn’t read anywhere about it - just came up on youtube so thanks for sharing this and yes this is the one. I just went through it and though I can’t say I understand, it’s definitely nice to look something up and read about it.
Honestly my favourite part of the article is the future research one. It is just so optimistic

Yes! And as if that’s not cool enough, imagine aliens watching us from out there (if they ARE there that is), and seeing WW2 or if they are even farther maybe dinosaurs!!
Apparently, the universe is big enough so that for 95% of places the aliens could be(far enough away from us) the solar system has not even started forming according to them

I hope I haven’t missed the party; I know some the Most astonishing facts.

Here are some of them:

  1. If the gravity only becomes as a working force on sun, it will crush the sun into a black hole in about 30 mins, While Betelgeuse will take about 88 days, Sirius A takes 41 mins, TRAPPIST- 1 about 1 minute and Stephenson 2-18 would take around a year.

  2. The HII Regions (a type of molecular cloud) are so hot some are about 10,000 - 30,000K but it is an Icy hell due to their low density.

  3. Our sun emits around 43% Visible, 3% UV and remainder is Infrared mainly.

  4. The first exoplanet was not found around any star, instead it was found around a pulsar Called B1257+12, this system consists of 3 planets. It was discovered in 1992 while first exoplanet around a star was found in 1995 known as 51 Pegasi b.

  5. Betelgeuse is fusing Helium nowadays, Stars like this, fuses helium for around 1 million years after that it will fuse the Carbon, Neon, Silicon and iron gradually. So don’t think it will become supernova in our Lifespans.
