Mt Saint Helens Star Party, what a great place to view from.
Details man. What size scope is that. I was at Mt St. Helens shortly after she blew
That really is an awesome shot being a hand held cellphone image .
Thanks, it takes a steady hand to pull that off
Well we were set up tonight to watch the Titan Shadow Transit on Saturn. I had the manual 10 inch dob and the 10 inch SCT set up and ready to go. I took a couple pics of the moon, the smaller is through the ST80 and the larger was with the SCT. As the evening progressed the amount of haze in the sky increased to the point where M13 could barely be seen. The decision was made to pack it in. Tomorrow i will spend some time cleaning everything off as every piece of equipment was soaked from the heaviest dew i have seen in a while
nice pics the weather down here has been bad clouds all last week and from friday an east coast low dumped 5" of rain on us and currently flooding
@beagle1 … Well i took a shot at watching the Triton shadow transit across Saturn, but not to long after i took the moon shots the skies turned to absolute rubbish.
Man ! It sure is slow around here .
8 months since the last post in a thread as simple as
“Post pictures of your scopes” ?
Does anybody have telescopes anymore ?
Seems like this forum has pretty much pithered out .
It’s so sad . Before it was shut down back in the late 2000’s , this was the best Astronomy forum on the web .
Yeah this site has been slow since i joined but i am not taking the blame for it lol.
I did actually pick up a new scope a couple weeks back. High Point Scientific had bought up all of Orion’s stock when they folded and i decided to roll the dice on one of the F10 90mm refractors on a eq mount. This was probably a poor buy since it is mostly plastic but it does do a really good job on the moon. I can’t say i am fond of an eq mount but i needed to learn how to use one anyway.
Nice scope Mike ![]()
Feeling bad about Orion, and Meade—I really loved their cassegrain scopes ![]()
